Advice for incoming 6th graders

Sixth grade might seem terrifying but it’s really not that bad. My two pieces of advice for incoming sixth graders are to be on time and don’t stress out.

If, you aren’t on time to class for the first week you won’t be in trouble but if you are tardy later in the year some teachers will make you do push-ups. On the second day of school I was late to band and I thought that I was going to be in a big inconvenience but they were completely fine. Also, be careful when talking in the halls between classes because you might be late but, if you are cautious and try as hard as possible not to be late you’ll be fine.

My next advisement is to not stress out. Stressing out will make your life a lot more rigid and I know from personal experience that school can get very exasperating but if you don’t worry so much about it you’ll be fine. I am very bad about putting unnecessary stress on myself so don’t be like me and don’t stress. Yes homework is important but it won’t be the end of the world if you don’t finish it. So, be sure not to stress yourself out too much.

Sixth grade might seem ghastly but it’s really not that beastly. If, you use these pieces of advice like not stressing out and being on time you could have a good, prosperous year in sixth grade. “The key to success is to start before you are ready.”
